My name is Brendan Betancourt; I am the owner of Sales Lift. I was originally born in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and moved to Englewood, Florida, in 2006.
My family has been vacationing in the Sarasota, Charlotte area my whole life. When I originally moved here, I worked for a Fortune 500 company and was driven around customer service and solutions.
I found great pride in creating technology solutions for people, combining things off the shelf to make lives easier in a retail sales environment. I was also the go-to guy to manipulate POS and computer systems to make outcomes for customers with returns/exchanges.
Around 2008, one of my General Managers told me I was overcomplicating my job because “at the end of the day, we are selling TVs, not saving lives.” It took the wind from my wings, and I decided to become a Firefighter Paramedic.
This began years of school, classes, ride times, and life-changing moments that continue to happen throughout my career.
Why business?
I have always been fascinated with technology, and I had to have the newest and greatest gadget.
I have loved creating businesses since I was a kid, starting my own lawn-mowing “business” at 12. I then began skateboarding and started a real business at 16, selling skateboards that I would hand cut, shape and design.
Since then, I have had many other ventures, but one thing always remained, my love for technology and helping grow businesses.
I have created so many websites with many different technologies going back to basic HTML, GeoCities, Flash, and most recently, WordPress.
I finally found a niche in website design, marketing, and SEO. Having the know-how to help people market their businesses and make more money is as rewarding as it gets.
What excites me?
So what excites me and makes me different than any other agency?
I am not just a marketing guy; I am a technology guy. One of my favorite projects was creating a cellular phone-operated hog trap. I got to combine designing, fabricating, welding, and programming to create something that no one else offered at the time.
